My story:
Why do I specialize in helping people who’ve just gone through a life change, especially newly single and divorced clients? Because I’ve been there. I’ve experienced the pain and embarrassment of divorce and, in fact, Rivalee Design was born out of that ‘adventure’. It was quite a journey transforming ‘our home’ into ‘my home’, but I found that healing from my divorce came from reinventing my environment. I wanted to help others experience that same transformation.
Naming Rivalee:
I was still in the middle of my divorce when I started Rivalee. My new company couldn’t use my then-married name, but I also didn’t want to use my maiden name - it felt too much like ‘going backward’. I chose Rivalee because not only does it mean ‘enchantingly beautiful’, it’s also a link to my grandmother’s name, Reva, who taught the women in my family that life is an adventure!
The logo:
Rivalee’s logo symbolizes change in a positive way. It represents moving on from a chapter that is over and includes a raven to symbolize resilience and creative solutions to life’s challenges.
Rivalee’s clients:
Some of our clients just want a more functional kitchen, but most are looking for a partner to help them reclaim their home after some big life change. No matter what, our priority is to listen to how they feel about their home when we start, and understand how they want to feel. Our single purpose is to help them create a home that fits and is personal to them. No matter the reason why clients seek Rivalee’s services, we love making their house feel more like their home.
Rivalee Design was launched in 2007. We work with clients to get back that feeling of being ‘at home’ by combining the furnishings our clients already have with new paint color, accessories, and thoughtful remodeling. Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in Community and Environmental Planning from the University of Washington, and her HND in Interior Design from Limpert’s Academy of Design.
